When you’ve got a significant amount of waste to get rid of, hiring a waste bin is the most convenient option. Doing so will mean that you will no longer have to worry about where you’re going to store the rubbish and you’ll be able to complete your rubbish removal in one go. However, to ensure you get the most from hiring a waste bin, there are a few things that you should know.

At Mobile Skips, we’re all about making waste bin hire easy for all Australians, which is why we reinvented the entire process to make it easier and more streamlined for you.

Below, we’ve listed a few things to know before jumping head first into waste bin hire. Keep reading:

Think about what you need the skip bin for?

While these may appear obvious, there’s no point in ordering an entire waste bin to dispose of some lightweight materials only to later discover that you need to throw away heavier, more substantial items. This can prove to hurt you financially, as you may go over the weight limit you initially paid for.

Think about what you need to do with the skip bin. Look at the waste type materials you’re looking to dispose of. For example, when renovating you may need to consider the amount of building waste you’re needing to remove as it can prove to be significantly heavy.

Once you determine this, you can head to our website or give us a call, and a member of our friendly team will be able to advise which skip bin is the best for your waste disposal needs.

What size skip bin do you need?

Once you’ve determined the different waste type material you’re looking to get rid of, you need to know how much you’ll need to throw out.

Our Mobile Skip bins are all 4 m2; however, each type comes with weight restrictions. Our ‘standard’ skip bin will allow you to remove up to 500kg of rubbish and our ‘heavy’ skip bin can take up to 1000kg.

Be sure to keep an eye on how much total waste you’re throwing away. Learn how to correctly fill different skip bin sizes because otherwise, if you load up the waste disposal bin with weight over the restricted limit, you may be charged extra.

How long will you require the skip bin?

It’s important to give yourself enough time to make the most of your waste bin hire service. Think about how much total waste you need to get rid of. Estimate how long it will take you to do the job. Then hire your waste bin service accordingly.

At Mobile Skips, all of our skip bin hires are inclusive of two days of skip bin hire. Please note that skips that are dropped off on a Friday won’t be picked up until the following Monday at no extra charge.

You can discuss with our team for longer hires if need be.
